It starts with us

By macjules, May 6, 2009 16:16

I spend a great deal of time reading information about global warming, climate change, animal welfare etc. I consider myself to be concerned about what we are humans are doing to the planet and I’m interested in seeing how I can usefully contribute to stopping/slowing down or resolving things as much as possible.

I’m always thinking about what can others do to help, why is there not more legislation to help, why don’t bug businesses seem to really want to step in to help? I seemed to forget in all of this about me; what can I do to help?  What are the things in my life that I do automatically, that probably don’t need doing, that in some way waste our resources. I’m going to have a think about this much more clearly in the near future, but what ever happens the aim will be to ensure that what ever I think of allows me to pursue what I think of as a normal life, and not be to radical a change to my life style.

I hope I can make progress on this. Be prepared for me to share my thoughts.

Our World Beta 2.0

When scrounging round the internet today, wasting time as I usually do I came across a very interesting web site, Our World Beta 2.0  . In their very own words :

Our World 2.0 is brought to you by the United Nations University and asks the question: What can we do when faced with complex, inter-connected and pressing problems like climate change, oil depletion and food security?”

It an interesting site, with well written articles and ideas, so go on have a look.
